EU Constitution only by fair referendums
This is the common sense of the European Referendum Campaign (ERC). Since 2002 people from all over Europe collaborate to achieve more democracy in Europe. The first ERC was on the EU Constitution. Then in 2007 the ERC was relaunched with the creation of the Lisbon Treaty.

Take Democracy Seriously - Stop the Ratification
The EU's Lisbon Treaty has been rejected by the people of Ireland. We, the citizens of Europe, call onto the governments of the EU member states, to take this democratic decision seriously and cancel the ongoing ratification of the Lisbon Treaty.

European Citizens' Initiative
The inclusion of the European Citizen's Initiative in the EU Constitution is a big success for civil society. But the wording of Article 47(4) is quite open to interpretation. Experience in EU member states has shown that citizens' initiatives, if they are to be workable, need to be citizen-friendly.
How to proceed with the Lisbon Treaty?
We propose a democratic procedure which should lead to a result accepted by a majority of Europeans. We will spread this text to parliamentarians all over Europe.
